Place of Origin
Southern Spain.

Actual Distribution
Probably a native of southern Spain and Sardinia, has spread into northern Europe and been introduced into the USA. Likely areas for production include much of the western U.S., northern Africa, southern Europe, northwest Argentina, and southern and western Australia.

Places and Types of Utilization
E. lagascae is a plant species adapted to Mediterranean and Western European conditions and is one of the few plants which naturally produces high levels of vernolic acid in its seed oil.
