Mediterranean region (Europe, Northern Africa), India, Central Asia, Southern Russia, Armenia, China

Places and Types of Utilization
Fruits, leaves and root (the latter only in Thailand). Fruits and leaves posses totally different flavour and can therefore not substitute each other.
