Description, Remarks/Restrictions UNESCO's policy is to make short-term awards, often of 6 months or under, and definitely not exceeding a maximum of one academic year (i.e. nine months)

Eligible research topics Environment, with particular emphasis on Water Sciences.
Who can apply Candidates must be post-graduate researchers, of no more than 40 years of age, already holding either an M.A. or M.Sc. degree (or equivalent) and wishing to pursue research work abroad (preferably in their own region). The selected Fellow must carry out the research under the auspices of an academic supervisor in a host institution. Priority will be given to women, candidates from least developed countries, and Palestinian researchers.
