Project
Phenotypic and genetic diversity in bambara groundnut landraces
finished
Bambara groundnut yields are low because the production environments are characterised by various abiotic and biotic stresses. However, even under optimal conditions the yields are variable and unpredictable, partly due to variability in the growth and development of individual plants within landraces.

Understanding the extent, distribution and nature of this variation in a diverse range of landraces would be useful in the development of bambara groundnut genotypes with both increased yield potential and improved adaptation to environmental stresses. The purpose of this work was to evaluate phenotypic and genetic diversity in bambara groundnut landraces using morphological characters and molecular markers.
