Describe activities and strategies used
  • Collection of genetic resources, their evaluation, characterization and conservation at both ex situ and in situ levels.
     
  • Identification of genetic donors, utilization of them in breeding programme to develop improved varieties with higher productivity.
     
  • Development of improved production technology and popularization among the target groups through frontline demonstration, farmers’ fairs, preseasonal meetings, popular literature, radio and television programmes etc. Nucleus seed production of improved varieties.
     
  • Development of value added products for income generation.
